Are boats and gas included in your rates?

Yes we provide 1 aluminum boat with swivel seats and outboard motor for every 2 persons per boat with no limit on gasoline use. So for cabins with a capacity of 10 people we will provide a minimum of 5 boats plus one spare boat and motor. This is included in your overall trip price.

Are landing nets and anchors supplied?

Yes, we now have landing nets and anchors at our camps for your convenience.

Can I book a specific aircraft for my trip?

Yes, booking a specific aircraft for your trip is possible subject to availability. Extra charges may apply.

Can I book for a group of people?

Yes, preferably one group member is responsible for the booking and deposit procedure.

Can I bring my own hunting equipment?

Yes, you bring all your own hunting equipment including your Rifle or Bow.

Can I cancel my booking?

Bookings can be cancelled until January 31 of the current season. Deposits are not refundable, but can be rolled over for a period of one year.

Can we order bait through Black Moose Outpost?

No, we do not sell bait at Black Moose Outposts. However, we will help you with your bait orders. We work with local bait shops to ensure you have good quality bait for your fishing adventures. Please note that live bait is not allowed at our Northern Camps. Please inquire with our team for more information.

Can you fly boats?

Yes, we frequently fly canoers and their canoes on our 185 or DHC Beaver, depending on the overall weight.

Can you pick me up from home?

Pickup service is possible upon request. Please get in touch with our crew to arrange for your personal pickup service. Our Pilatus Porter PC-6 & Cessna Caravan are equipped with an amphib configuration and can generally service any airport in the region. Alternatively, we are happy to organize charter service to pick you up from your home destination.

Do I have to bring my own life jacket?

No, you do not need to bring your own life jacket. We have new life preservers for all our guests. Please advise in advance if you will need youth sizes.

Do I need a hunting license?

Yes. You have to be an accredited hunter in Ontario before we can submit an application to purchase a moose tag. You will need to provide documentation to our staff and pay a small fee to get accredited. This is a onetime requirement. Our office manager will take care of this for you.

Do I need to bring my own linens?

Rest easy during your stay with us—we’ve got your comfort covered. We provide quality linen and pillows, ensuring a cozy and enjoyable experience.

Do you offer guided hunts?

Yes, we offer guided and unguided hunts. Please contact our team for more information.

How and when do I pay the full trip price?

The full trip price is payable upon Check-Out (cash, cheque or credit card). We reserve the right to request a credit card hold upon Check-in. For credit cards a convenience fee of 4% applies.

How can I book my experience?

How can I communicate with my family or reach Black Moose base if needed?

You will be provided with 1 Garmin Inreach device with unlimited text message availability to be regularly reviewed by Black Moose headquarters to make sure you always have everything you need.

How does supply work?

Elevate your stay with us by pre-ordering essential food and beverage items. Plan ahead for a seamless experience, and if you need additional supplies during your stay, we are here to fly them in upon request, at an extra cost.

How much is the deposit?

The deposit amounts 20% of the final price (non including additional products/services).

Is there a maximum weight limit per passenger/seat?

Yes, a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds applies. This includes passenger body weight and gear. Additional weight will be transported at extra cost, subject to availability.

Is there a waiting list?

Yes, especially for hunts due to the high demand. If your preferred dates or lakes for fishing are not available, we are happy to help to find an alternative solution for you.

Is VIP service available?

Yes, tailored VIP service like private chef, extended charter flights and housekeeping is available upon request.

What fees apply?

Black Moose Outposts promotes ‘Catch and Live Release’. Therefore we will provide you with a free Conservation Fishing License if you choose to not take fish home to your place of residence. What happens if weather does not permit flying?

Safety of our guests and staff is our #1 Priority. If the weather conditions do not permit flying, you might have to extend your stay at our base or in our cabins until the conditions have changed. Weather conditions do not affect the overall trip price.

What is included/excluded in the rates?

Included:

Fishing: airfare, 7 nights stay, boats, unlimited gas, Red Lake airport shuttle, parking in Red Lake, propane and generator, cabin equipment, Garmin Inreach, conservation fishing license.

Hunting: airfare, 7 nights stay, hunting license, bull tag, boats, unlimited gas, Red Lake airport shuttle, parking in Red Lake, propane and generator, cabin equipment, Garmin Inreach, conservation fishing license.

Excluded, but available upon request: groceries (not counted as weight on airplane when purchased through Black Moose Outposts) bait, hunting guide, Starlink internet.

What is required in order to go fishing at one of your camps?

You will need a valid Ontario Outdoors Card and at least an 8-day conservation fishing license. When you book a trip with Black Moose Outposts, we include both documents in your stay and our staff will arrange them for you.

What is the current pricing list?

Our hunting prices vary between 4,000 – 10,000 USD per person. The price depends on package, location and whether the hunt is guided.

What is the minimum number of people required to book a cabin?

No need to worry about a minimum headcount when booking our cabins! Enjoy the flexibility of booking for any number of people. However, for groups with less than two people matching the cabin’s total capacity, additional charges may apply.

What is the minimum number of people required to book a hunt?

The minimum number of people required to book a hunt is 2-4 depending on location – please inquire with our team for detailed information.

What kind of equipment do the cabins have?

All our cabins feature solar lights, hot and cold running water, fridge, propane cook stove with oven and a wood stove for those chilly early season nights. We also have generators, propane grills and fish cookers at each cabin for your convenience. Our cabins are also fully stocked with pots, pans, coffee maker, dishes, utensils and cleaning supplies.

What prices apply for the coming season?

Our rates vary and depend on month, package and accommodation type.

Fishing: 1,400 – 3,000 USD net per person

Hunting: 4,000 – 10,000 USD net per person

When does the season start and end?

The season starts on May 15 and ends on October 15 of each year.
